About the National Day of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer is an
annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all
faiths to pray for our nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of
the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
The NH National Day of Prayer is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage
participation in the National Day of Prayer.
Our ministry was established for the sole purpose of encouraging the people of New Hampshire to keep our leaders and officials in continual prayer for our nation.
It exists to communicate with
every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create
appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for
America’s
leaders and its families.
The NH National Day of Prayer is dedicated to raising awareness of prayer by attending activities throughout the state and pursing opportunities to speak at gatherings and functions pertaining to prayer.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization recognized by the Federal Government. All donations are deductible. Funds received will be for establishing prayer events in throughout NH and other administrative needs for prayer. All individuals associated with NH National Day of Prayer are volunteers.
